Have done original work on road transport, road safety and Development, conservation and management of water as a national resource including water use efficiency, command area development, flood control, dam safety, etc. Regulation and development of inter-State Rivers, rivers common to India and neighbouring countries, etc.
Was conferred with awards like President's Silver Medal for Census Operation in 1981 and Environment Excellence in Transportation Awards in May 2005 by USA based Society of Automotive Engineers etc.
Published articles on physically handicapped and road transport, on road safety as also on water resource sector including water conservation. At international forum(World Water Week) in Sweden, in August 2013 and August 2014, placed correct facts to counter the conception being propagated by some non-government entities relating to water sector in general, and the agreements with neighbouring countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal in particular, in respect of trans-boundary rivers.

During innings as Secretary UPSC, from March 2008 to June 2011, proactively created an updated Ministry/Department-wise proposals relating to holding of DPC, recruitment, deputation was created and same was updated dynamically. The system of single window receipt of proposal by UPSC, came about during my tenure.

Since joining the Department in October 2014, continuous efforts have been made to sensitise central ministries/departments to respond to public grievances in an effective manner. The numbers of public grievances particularly those which are pension related, have shown a downward trend.
